NAKAMURA Ken-ichi
The flower

The flower, which is the subject of the painting, is painted looking down from a relatively high position. The artist's ample talent is perhaps the reason he chose such a challenging composition, with the window frame and shelf tilted at an angle and the spout of the pitcher hidden by flowers. By overcoming the difficult composition, the painting has a sense of dynamism. Ken-ichi Nakamura established a painting club with his senior, Zenzaburo Kojima, at Fukuoka Prefectural Junior High School Shuyukan (now Fukuoka Prefectural Shuyukan High School). They continued to be close friends.
