大久保泰 ŌKUBO Tai
Nice Harbor

A white, shining yacht is placed at the center of the screen, with a pier and a peninsula drawn on either side, almost symmetrically flanking the yacht. Yasushi Okubo paid attention to this artist even before the time when Dufy was active, publishing 'Songs of Dufy' through the Mainichi Shimbun in 1949, and handling the Dufy volume of Kodansha's Art Books in 1955. Because of that, Okubo also frequently used the port landscapes favored by Dufy as subjects. The way the waves sparkle has a touch reminiscent of Dufy, but as for the colors, they reflect Okubo's unique sense.
