夜であろうか。カフェで使用される椅子が一本の木の下に集まっている。その左後方にも同じ椅子が集まっている。どういった理由でこのような配列になっているのか知る由がない。遠くの縦線が連なる向こうの光が手前の椅子の集まる一本の木に当たり、幹にはその逆光になって漏れた光が表現されている。椅子の表情はまるで人間のようである。地面の右に茶色、左は緑を混ぜ入れて非対称としているところが絵に深みと詩情を与えている。

It is probably night. Chairs used in a cafe are gathered under a tree. There are also similar chairs gathered behind them to the left. There is no way of knowing why they are arranged in this way. Light from a series of vertical lines in the distance falls on the tree in the foreground where the chairs are gathered, and the light is backlit and seeps through the trunk. The chairs have almost human-like expressions. The asymmetry created by mixing brown on the right side of the ground and green on the left gives the painting depth and poetry.
