Mother and children (3 People)

Two people are talking in the dark, while another person stands a little distance away, holding both hands over their mouths and staring. The thick ink outlines and the eerie smile suggest that something sinister is going on, but what that something is is unclear. The black lines were likely acquired through the artist's study of Rouault, but the unsettling way in which the viewer is invited to speculate is reminiscent of the work of the German Expressionist painter and printmaker Kirchner.
