IKEGAMI Shūho　

A work by Shūho in his 20s.It is a fitting subject for the Meiji period, when Japan was leaping forward into the modern era.Jimmu's Eastern Expedition can be said to be the oldest heroic tale in Japan.Emperor Jimmu lost his brothers in battle during his expedition to the east, and judging from the people depicted and the ornaments they are wearing, it is possible that the scene in this work depicts his brother.
