TAKAGI Haisui
The Fresh Green in Nara

Takagi Haisui traveled to the United States and the United Kingdom to study painting. In particular, during his two-year study abroad in England from 1910, he appears to have mainly studied landscape painting. The results of this are clearly evident in this work, which depicts nature as it is, carefully observed and meticulously expressed. It accurately captures the expressions of the trees, and you can almost feel the scent of fresh green leaves and the wind rustling the trees.Furthermore, the sunlight that serves as the source of light shines through the new leaves, creating the feeling of a season of budding greenery.
